Centenary Bank and Mastercard partnership will transform Uganda’s Economy

Uganda, 19 July 2017: Centenary Bank and Mastercard have today announced at the Annual Bankers’ Conference their multipronged approach to digitising Uganda’s economy in support of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy.

Following the recent signing of a strategic partnership agreement focused on boosting financial inclusion in the East African market, the two partners today further strengthened their partnership by signing a Commercial Banking Agreement (CBA) which will see the rollout of a broad suite of digital payment solutions.

Kampla October, 21st - At least 200 youths across the country received financial literacy training from Centenary Bank in partnership with the International Labour Organization under Youth Entrepreneurship Facility (YEF).

The youths received experiential and hand on training in costing, budgeting, managing businesses, book keeping, and marketing, among others, to enable them turn their energy and ideas into business opportunities with the ultimate goal of increasing their income and creating work for themselves and others.

Jinja September 2, 2016 - Centenary Bank launches the CenteHome Loan, a Micro Housing Microfinance (HMF) loan product designed to enable low income earners to finance the construction of habitable houses on a progressive basis.

Speaking at the launch ceremony at the Jinja branch, Centenary Bank’s Chief Manager Micro Credit, Mr. Robert Canwat said that the product has been introduced to promote home ownership in Uganda.

Centenary Bank, UECCC Launch Loan Scheme to Ease Access to Power in Soroti

August, 2016, Soroti: Centenary Bank and Uganda Energy Credit Capitalization Company (UECCC) have extended the electricity loan scheme to Soroti district to ease on the access of electricity by residents and businesses.
The power connection loan will be used for wiring premises, connection costs, purchase of equipment and accessories and labor for installation of new connections to the hydro-power grids and or conversions from diesel-powered to hydro-power connections.
