Financial Literacy Seminar in Lira
Centenary Bank partnered with Private Sector Foundation of Uganda (PSFU) in April 2011 to carry out financial trainings around the country. The training is worth UGX50m.This was in response to the society need of improving business management. It seeks to address issues on record keeping, budgeting, loan utilization, personal finance, family businesses and entrepreneurship. Each training takes 2days and follows the format of class room lectures, business clinics, testimonies from successful businesses and one on one sessions between the business people and the trainers.
Phase one will see over 1,000 people trained from Lira, Mbale, Mbarara, Arua and Kampala. Phase two will follow up on the trained participants to re-skill and build on existing knowledge to better their businesses. It will also involve people who have never been trained.
To date we have trained over 900 people from Lira, Mbale, Arua and Mbarara. The last phase one training will be in Kampala on 30 and 31 August 2011.
