SMS. (Centeline) Banking

Facility that enables mobile phone users who are account holders with Centenary Bank access to their account information by use of their mobile phone hand sets.

Basic Requirements:

  • Savings or Current Account with the bank.
  • Possession of a mobile phone hand set.
  • Personal Identification Number (PIN).
  • MTN and Zain customers. Other service providers to be brought on board soon.

1 To check your account balance

BAL*Acct Code*pin

Step 1
Type BAL*AcctCode*pin
Step 2
Then send to code 7000
Message will display your current and available balance.
Note:
BAL = balance
AcctCode = type of account e.g
CA for current and SA for savings plus last 2 digits of the account number.
AcctCode can ONLY be given at any Centenary Bank branch
Example;
If account is 3720000126 (savings) and pin 543211
Type BAL*sa26*543211 and send to 7000

2 To view your account mini-statement

STM*Acct Code*pin

Step 1
Type STM*AcctCode*pin
Step 2
Then send to code 7000
Message will display last 3 account transactions.
Note:
STM = statement
Example;
If account is 3720000126 (savings) and pin is 543211
Type STM*sa26*543211 and send to 7000

3 To check un-cleared items (Mini)

UNC*Acct Code*pin

Step 1
Type UNC*AcctCode*pin
Step 2
Then send to code 7000
Phone message will display recent un-cleared items.
Note:
UNC = uncleared…
Example;
If account is 3720000126 (savings) and pin is 543211
Type UNC *sa26*543211 and send to 7000

4 To check status of cheques

CKS*AcctCode *ChkNo*pin

Step 1
Type CKS*AcctCode*ChkNo*pin
Step 2
Then send to code 7000
Phone message will display status of cheque number specified.
Note:
CKS = cheque status
CHKNo = cheque number
Example;
If account is 3720000126 (savings), Cheque no. is 334 and pin is 543211
Type CKS *sa26*334*543211 and send to 7000

5 To purchase Mobile Phone airtime

MOB*AcctCode *service provider *airtime value*pin

Step 1
Type MOB*AcctCode*service provider*airtime value*pin
Step 2
Then send to code 7000
You will receive airtime serial code and airtime recharge code code.
Step 3
Use the airtime recharge code to load airtime on your mobile as usual.
Note:
MOB = mobile
Service provider = MTN or any other linked to the service.
CA for current and SA for savings plus last 2 digits of the account number.
AcctCode can ONLY be given at any Centenary Bank branch
Example;
If account is 3720000126, airtime value required is sh. 5,000/=, service provider is MTN and pin is 543211
Type MOB *sa26*MTN*5000*543211 and send to 7000

6 To view previous Airtime Access Codes

i.e. in case details for airtime purchased are deleted in error,

Step 1
Type MRI*pin
Step 2
Then send to code 7000
You will receive serial code and airtime recharge code for last airtime purchased.
Step 3
Use airtime recharge code to load airtime on your mobile as usual.
Example;
If account is 3720000126, and pin is 543211
Type MRI *543211 and send to 7000

7 To change PIN/Password

It is important that the default password received is changed to a confidential personalized password.

You will receive new PIN/Password.
Example;
If account is 3720000126, New Pin is dos and Old Pin is 543211
