Our Bank Joins Thousands for the Annua Rotary Cancer Run
Kampala - 31st August 2025
Centenary Bank proudly joined Ugandans from all walks of life for the 14th edition of the Rotary Cancer Run, held on Sunday, 31st August 2025, at the Kololo Independence Grounds and several major cities nationwide.
The annual run, organized by Uganda Rotary Cancer Program in partnership with various stakeholders, is one of the country’s most significant charity events dedicated to the fight against cancer. With over 60,000 participants nationwide, the event reaffirmed the strong spirit of unity and collective responsibility towards improving health care in Uganda.
Speaking at the event, our Managing Director, Mr. Fabian Kasi, emphasized the Bank’s unwavering support for initiatives that touch lives and build stronger communities:
“As Centenary Bank, we are proud to be part of the Rotary Cancer Run again. Cancer remains a major challenge for many families in Uganda, and through this run, we are contributing to a cause that not only raises awareness but also channels resources towards improving treatment and care. Together, we can make a lasting difference.”
Since its inception in 2012, the Rotary Cancer Run has focused on raising funds to support cancer treatment facilities in Uganda, including constructing the Centenary Rotary Cancer Ward at Nsambya Hospital and ongoing efforts to build Uganda’s first specialized Cancer Centre.
Centenary Bank’s partnership with Rotary in this initiative reflects its broader corporate social responsibility agenda, which prioritizes health, education, environment, and financial inclusion. Through such engagements, the Bank continues demonstrating its role as a partner in community transformation.
This year’s run attracted nationwide participation, with simultaneous activities in over 40 towns and districts. Families, corporate teams, and individuals came together to run, walk, and stand in solidarity with those affected by cancer.
As Uganda's leading commercial microfinance bank, Centenary Bank remains committed to supporting initiatives that uplift communities. The Bank extends heartfelt appreciation to Rotary Uganda, fellow sponsors, and every participant who took part in this noble cause.
Together, we run for hope. Together, we run for life.
